Created by a nineteen-year-old in their first year of university, the Facebook page “Be Like Bill” has already reached 625,000 likes in just over a month!
A huge success, indeed!
Who among you hasn’t seen a post with Bill, who ironically explains how people should behave to be as non-harmful as possible to others, adopt good manners, and be intelligent?
He provides pearls of wisdom that many would like to share with someone, relying on his sagacity to do so!
The first drawing seems to date back six years and belong to Eugeniu Croitoru, but the origin isn’t that important: the virality comes from the collaboration and collective ideas of users. It’s the ability to share that gives value to certain phenomena, which wouldn’t have any if they couldn’t be shared.
But his success doesn’t stop at Facebook. Due to high user demand, a merchandising site and an Instagram page have been launched.
As we know, when something becomes successful, it is used and exploited as much as possible by everyone. This is why web applications have been created to allow people to make their own Bill or become the protagonist of the meme. Thus, Tanuzzo, the Sicilian Bill, Billa, the female version, Llib, the opposite of Bill, Peppi, the Calabrian version, and finally, Gianni the evil one, the version with Gianni Morandi, were born.
