Thank God! Google Translate is finally integrated in WhatsApp!
Don’t know what this phrase means? Don’t worry, luckily Google Translate exists!
Many of you may be wondering what the big news is, since it has been around for 10 years; the novelty is the “Tap to Translate” feature, introduced in many platforms, which now allows you to read and write in different languages without leaving the app you’re using. In other words, no more copying text and pasting it into Google Translate!
If you have polyglot or foreign friends on Facebook, you may have already noticed the “View Translation” option at the bottom of posts written in a different language, but now this feature will also be integrated into WhatsApp!
It’s a great convenience, as it eliminates the “copy text-close WhatsApp-open Translate-choose language-paste text-close Translate-reopen WhatsApp” process. You won’t need to leave the chat anymore, as the feature allows you to translate messages in all 103 languages supported by Google Translate on all Android devices, from 4.2 Jellybean onwards.
After introducing the ability to consult dictionaries without an internet connection and the ability to translate text simply by taking a picture, the integration into platforms like WhatsApp will surely make the language barrier weaker! From now on, you just need to write on WhatsApp and click the Google Translate icon—everything else will be handled by it!
Other updates? The “Offline Mode” for translation has been extended to iOS, while on Android, the size of language data packages for download has been reduced.
WhatsApp chats are about to be revolutionized! Of course, if you want to switch to face-to-face conversations, Google hasn’t yet invented a solution to integrate Translate into us!
